Our Prayer for our Future
As a church our prayer is to be a community of people who know Jesus, grow in Jesus and show Jesus to the world.
Know Jesus
At Mooroolbark Baptist we want to know Jesus, and not just know about Jesus. Jesus is the cornerstone of our beliefs. We believe that He is the Son of God, and He is our Saviour.
The Bible says that as we abide and stay close to Him, He will do the same for us.
We aim to get to know Him better by spending time together praying to Him, worshiping Him, and by reading the Bible. We seek to centre all teaching around what the Bible says. We make a point of reading the Bible at every service and have small groups of people who study the Bible together and support each other as they meet throughout the week.
(John 15:1-17; Psalm 95:1-7)
How can I get to Know Jesus at MBC?

Get the Bible App
A great place to start is by downloading the Bible app on your phone or looking it up online. There are reading plans to guide you through and a verse of the day to help give you encouragement each day. At MBC we also have small groups that read the Bible together throughout the week.

Praying to God
Praying to God is simply having a conversation with Him. If you have anything you'd like us to pray about, please let us know. At MBC we have many opportunities to pray together and for each other, including a monthly prayer gathering on the 3rd Sunday of each month. All are welcome.

Sign up to Alpha
Alpha is a free program run at MBC that tackles some of life's tough questions and shows how Jesus fits into it all. If you've found yourself wondering if there's more to life than this, we'd love to invite you to come along.
Grow in Jesus
What does it look like to grow in Jesus? When a plant is growing you can see greenery, flowers and sometimes fruit. The same thing happens when we are growing in Jesus. The ‘fruit’ is the evidence that we’re growing. This might be shown in the way we develop as a person, or that our character reflects more of what Jesus is like.
At Mooroolbark Baptist we encourage maturity in the faith through shared life and discipleship, building one-another up for the good works Jesus calls us to.
(Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 1:27-28)

Worship Services
Join us for our weekly worship service at 10am each Sunday. It is the time for us to gather together as a whole church, young and old. If you can't come in person, check out our services online. We hope you will come away encouraged.

Join a Small Group
We have various small groups that meet throughout the week. Meeting in smaller groups helps us get to know each other better, care and pray for one another, and grow in understanding of who Jesus is.

Getting Involved
Getting involved at MBC is a great way to grow in Jesus. There are plenty of ways you can get involved, from joining a small group to serving on a team. Let us know what you're interested in and we'll let you know how you can get involved.

The Next Generation
We’re passionate about raising up the next generation to know, love, and follow Jesus. By teaching them God’s Word and modelling a life of faith, we’re equipping them to carry His love and truth into the future.
Child Safe Policy
We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and caring church where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We take the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable people seriously, and we are committed to following safe church practices, responding appropriately to concerns, and providing an environment where everyone can grow in faith free from harm or abuse.
Show Jesus
When you find something that changes your life you want to share it with everyone you know. It’s that way for us with Jesus. We can love and help others because He first showed us what love truly is.
We want to show the love of Jesus through the way we care for, serve, and connect with the people around us. By being a welcoming and active part of our community, we hope others can see Jesus through us and experience His love for themselves.
(1 John 4:19; 1 Thessalonians 2:8)

Kids Hope
For over 20 years MBC has partnered with Kids Hope and a local primary school to help mentor students and provide mental and social support to empower children to thrive in school and life.

Global Mission
We support a number of people who serve others overseas. Some work with communities in poverty, others help translate the Bible into local languages.
